Brooke Effinger, MS, LMHC

Clinical Supervisor, Clinician

Brooke is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with the state of Florida with a passion in addressing the growing mental health concerns for children and adolescents.  Brooke was born and raised in Wisconsin, graduating from University of Wisconsin with a dual major in psychology as well as human development and family studies.  She graduated from Marquette University with a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a child/adolescent specialization.  During this program, Brooke was a recipient of a Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) grant, launched to increase behavioral health providers that specialize in child/adolescent counseling.  The endowment allowed Brooke to gain valuable clinical experience in pediatric mental health at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin.
Now as a Floridian, she currently serves as CMET's clinical supervisor for the Student Intervention and Prevention Services (SIPS) department.  She combines both leadership and clinical skills to ensure our clinicians and clients receive the support that they need as services are provided at elementary, middle, and high schools throughout Broward County.  Brooke has experience within school based settings, outpatient mental health, early childhood mental health (ECMH), and clinical assessment, offering a wide expertise in working with clients from infancy to late adolescence in collaboration with their families.  She is also trained in the clinical approach of Child-Parent Psychotherapy via Florida State's Center for Prevention & Early Intervention Policy, delivering services to children age 0-5 with their parents/caregivers so they may heal and grow after stressful experiences.  Brooke has experience addressing anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, berevement, eating disorders, adjustment to medical diagnoses like cancer, divorce/seperation, and more.
